August 2026 Criminology Licensure Exam Topnotchers to Be Released This September

Thousands of aspiring criminologists across the Philippines are eagerly awaiting the release of the August 2026 Criminology Licensure Examination (CLE) Results, which will include the official List of Topnotchers (Top 10 Examinees), the complete list of successful examinees, and the performance of schools. The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), through the Board of Criminology, is expected to release the examination results in September 2026, approximately twenty-six (26) working days after the final day of the licensure examination, in accordance with the agency’s announced schedule.

The August 2026 Criminology Licensure Examination was conducted on August 1, 2, and 3, 2026, drawing thousands of examinees from various regions across the country who aspired to earn the title of Registered Criminologist. The three-day board examination covered the core competencies and professional knowledge required under the standards set by the Professional Regulation Commission and the Board of Criminology.

Examinations were simultaneously administered in numerous testing centers nationwide to accommodate the large number of candidates. These testing venues included the National Capital Region (NCR), Baguio, Butuan, Cagayan de Oro, Calapan, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Koronadal, Legazpi, Lucena, Palawan, Pagadian, Pampanga, Rosales, Tacloban, Tuguegarao, Zamboanga, Bacolod, Bayambang, Bohol, Catarman, Cauayan, Dumaguete, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, and Kidapawan, allowing examinees from Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao to take the examination closer to their respective provinces.

Among the most anticipated parts of the official results is the List of Topnotchers, which recognizes the examinees who achieved the highest ratings in the licensure examination. Every examination cycle, the PRC publishes the names of the Top 10 examinees, whose exceptional performance serves as an inspiration to future criminologists and highlights the quality of education provided by their respective institutions. Alongside the Top 10, the PRC will also release the complete alphabetical list of passers and the official performance of schools, providing a comprehensive overview of the examination outcomes nationwide.

The Board of Criminology, headed by Chairman Hon. Ramil G. Gabao with members Hon. Lani T. Palmones and Hon. Warren M. Corpuz, supervised the conduct, evaluation, and processing of the August 2026 licensure examination. The board continues to uphold professional standards to ensure that only qualified individuals are granted licenses to practice the criminology profession in the Philippines.

Based on the official announcement, the PRC also disclosed that the examination results concerning three (3) examinees were withheld pending the final determination of their liabilities under the rules and regulations governing licensure examinations. Meanwhile, the results of two (2) examinees were withheld pending the submission of the required documents, while the examination results of five (5) examinees were likewise withheld for further verification of the documents they submitted. Such measures are part of the Commission’s standard procedures to preserve the integrity, fairness, and credibility of the licensure examination process.

The release of the August 2026 CLE results is expected to be one of the most significant announcements for graduates of criminology programs this year. Passing the licensure examination marks a major milestone, opening opportunities for successful examinees to pursue careers in law enforcement, corrections, public safety, criminal investigation, forensic science, security management, and other related fields in both the government and private sectors.
