Ramon S. Ang has acquired an estimated 25.65% to 25.7% stake in Lopez Inc. from Crème Investment Corp., the investment vehicle of the family branch of former ABS-CBN chairman Eugenio “Gabby” Lopez III, in a transaction whose financial terms have not been disclosed. The deal forms part of a broader Lopez family stake sale previously reported at ₱45 billion, but Ang has not been confirmed as the buyer of the entire 70.83% stake.

MANILA, Philippines — The family branch of former ABS-CBN chairman Eugenio “Gabby” Lopez III has sold its stake in Lopez Inc., providing the first concrete corporate confirmation of a reported ₱45-billion transaction that could significantly reshape the ownership and control of one of the Philippines’ most prominent family-owned business groups.
First Philippine Holdings Corp. (FPH) confirmed the development in a disclosure following the resignation of Roberta L. Feliciano, Gabby Lopez’s sister, as a director effective August 9. The company said Feliciano’s resignation was prompted by the “sale by Creme Investment Corporation of its shares in Lopez Inc.”
Creme Investment Corp., the investment vehicle associated with the Gabby Lopez family branch, holds a 25.65% stake in Lopez Inc., the private holding company at the center of the Lopez family’s corporate interests.
Feliciano’s departure from the FPH board provides a significant corporate indication that the previously reported transaction involving several Lopez family branches is moving forward. The disclosure also lends further weight to reports that multiple branches of the family have agreed to sell their combined interests in Lopez Inc.
According to earlier reports, three Lopez family branches have agreed to sell a combined 70.83% controlling stake in Lopez Inc. for ₱45 billion. If completed, the transaction would represent a major shift in the ownership structure of the Lopez business empire and could end decades of control by the family branches involved in the sale.
The buyer, however, has not been officially identified by First Philippine Holdings or in the company’s disclosure. Reports have described the prospective purchaser only as an “ultra-billionaire” who is reportedly in advanced discussions to acquire the controlling stake. Until the parties formally disclose the buyer’s identity, it would be premature to attribute the transaction to a specific individual.

Under the reported terms, the transaction would leave Croslo Holdings, led by Federico “Piki” Lopez, with a 29.17% stake in Lopez Inc. If the deal is completed as reported, the outside investor acquiring the majority stake would become the controlling shareholder of Lopez Inc., marking a potentially historic shift in the ownership of the Lopez group.
The reported transaction comes amid developments involving different branches of the Lopez family and their respective interests in the family’s business holdings. A ₱45-billion sale of a controlling stake would significantly realign the balance of ownership within Lopez Inc., placing majority control in the hands of an investor outside the Lopez family.
The significance of the transaction extends beyond Lopez Inc. itself because the holding company has interests connected to several major Philippine businesses. Lopez Inc. has historically served as a key investment vehicle for the Lopez family’s corporate interests, including its stake in ABS-CBN Corp.
As of December 31, 2025, Lopez Inc. was ABS-CBN’s largest shareholder, holding approximately 55.82% of the broadcaster’s common shares. Any substantial change in control of Lopez Inc. could therefore have broader implications for businesses and assets connected to the Lopez group, although the actual impact would depend on the final terms of the transaction and any applicable corporate and regulatory approvals.
The sale by Creme Investment is particularly significant because it represents the first publicly disclosed corporate action directly connecting one of the reported selling family branches to the ₱45-billion transaction. Feliciano’s resignation from the FPH board further underscores the significance of the development, as the reported divestment is already reflected in changes within the Lopez corporate network.
For the Lopez family, the reported transaction could mark the beginning of a new chapter in the ownership and management of its business interests. For the prospective buyer, acquiring more than 70% of Lopez Inc. would provide effective control of the holding company and potentially establish a powerful position within one of the country’s most established corporate groups.
Despite the reported progress, several important details remain undisclosed, including the identity of the prospective buyer, the exact structure of the ₱45-billion consideration, the specific interests being acquired from each Lopez family branch, and the conditions that must be fulfilled before the transaction can be considered final.
As of the latest corporate disclosure, the buyer remains unidentified. What has been officially confirmed is that Creme Investment Corp. sold its shares in Lopez Inc., while reports continue to point to an ultra-billionaire as the prospective buyer of the Lopez family branches’ combined 70.83% stake for ₱45 billion.
If completed, the transaction could become one of the most significant ownership changes involving the Lopez business empire in recent years, potentially transferring control of Lopez Inc. from several Lopez family branches to a new outside controlling shareholder and ushering in a new era for the group’s corporate structure.
