The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) released the results of the August–September 2026 Nurses Licensure Examination (NLE) on September 18, 2026. The announcement includes the complete list of successful examinees, the Top 10 performers, top-performing schools, and the overall performance of participating institutions. The results were issued five working days after the conclusion of the examinations.

The August–September 2026 Nurses Licensure Examination (NLE) results, including the complete list of successful examinees, top 10 performers, top-performing schools, and overall school performance, were released by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) on Friday, September 18, 2026.

According to the PRC, 28,652 out of 37,359 examinees passed the August–September 2026 NLE, resulting in a passing rate of 76.69 percent.

Meanwhile, the results involving 21 examinees were withheld as the PRC conducts a final determination of their possible liabilities under the rules and regulations governing licensure examinations.

The nursing board examinations were conducted by the PRC on August 29 and 30, 2026, across various testing centers nationwide. These included Metro Manila, Baguio, Butuan, Cagayan de Oro, Calapan, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Koronadal, Legazpi, Lucena, Pagadian, Palawan, Rosales, Tacloban, Tuguegarao, Zamboanga, Cauayan, Dumaguete in Negros Oriental, Ilocos Sur, Laguna, Lipa in Batangas, Tagbilaran in Bohol, and Urdaneta in Pangasinan.

Note: The licensure examination in Region III, covering the testing centers in San Fernando, Pampanga, and Cabanatuan, Nueva Ecija, was conducted on September 11–12, 2026, following its rescheduling due to adverse weather conditions and Heavy Rainfall Warnings. Meanwhile, the second day of the examination in the National Capital Region (NCR) proceeded on September 12, 2026.

The rescheduling was implemented as a precautionary measure in response to prevailing unfavorable weather conditions and official Heavy Rainfall Warnings that could have affected the safety and mobility of examinees, examination personnel, and other stakeholders.

NLE Registration

Successful examinees who qualify for the issuance of a Professional Identification Card (PIC) and Certificate of Registration (COR) will complete the registration process online through the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) portal.

The date for initial registration will be announced by the PRC. Applicants should access the official PRC online services portal and carefully follow the instructions provided for initial registration.

For the registration process, applicants are required to prepare the following:

• A screenshot or printed copy of the system-generated Registration Form
• A valid government-issued identification card

Under Section 16 of Republic Act No. 9173, successful examinees are required to take the professional oath before the Board of Nursing or another government official authorized to administer oaths before beginning the practice of nursing.

Verification of NLE Ratings

All NLE examinees, whether they passed or failed the examination, may verify their individual ratings a few working days after the official release of the results.

To check an examination rating, applicants should visit the official PRC website and proceed to the Verification of Rating service. The system will require information such as the examination name, examination date, application number, first name, last name, and date of birth.

NLE Oathtaking Details

The PRC will release the schedule and other important details for the Nursing Licensure Examination (NLE) oathtaking after the publication of the examination results.

Those who will participate in the face-to-face mass oathtaking are required to register online through the PRC portal by 12 noon on the day before the ceremony.

Inductees should print and bring their personalized Oath Form containing a QR code, which will be used for attendance verification during the ceremony. Examinees who cannot attend the face-to-face ceremony may be given the option to participate through an online or special oathtaking, subject to PRC guidelines.

After completing the oath-taking ceremony, successful examinees must proceed with their Initial Registration through the PRC online portal to complete the requirements for professional registration.

Coverage of Examinations

The August and September 2026 Philippine Nurse Licensure Examination (PNLE) assessed the essential knowledge, skills, and professional attitudes required of aspiring registered nurses. The examination covered major areas of nursing practice, including Fundamentals of Nursing and Professional Adjustments, Maternal and Child Nursing, Community Health and Communicable Disease Nursing, Nursing of Adolescents, Adults and Older Persons, and Mental Health and Psychiatric Nursing.

The examination also evaluated the competencies expected under the 11 key areas of responsibility outlined in the Competency Standards of Nursing Practice in the Philippines. These competencies are organized into four major categories:

1. Patient Care Competencies – covering the delivery of safe and quality nursing care, effective communication, collaboration and teamwork, and health education.
2. Empowering Competencies – encompassing legal responsibilities, ethico-moral and spiritual responsibilities, and personal and professional development.
3. Enabling Competencies – focusing on the proper management of resources and the environment, as well as accurate records management.
4. Enhancing Competencies – emphasizing research and continuous quality improvement in nursing practice.

The PNLE consists of five examination parts, designed to measure a candidate’s ability to apply nursing knowledge and competencies across different patient-care situations:

• Nursing Practice I – Community Health Nursing
• Nursing Practice II – Care of Healthy/At-Risk Mother and Child
• Nursing Practice III – Care of Clients with Physiologic and Psychosocial Alterations – Part A
• Nursing Practice IV – Care of Clients with Physiologic and Psychosocial Alterations – Part B
• Nursing Practice V – Care of Clients with Physiologic and Psychosocial Alterations – Part C

Together, these areas provide a comprehensive assessment of the knowledge, clinical competencies, professional responsibilities, and decision-making skills expected of candidates seeking professional registration as nurses in the Philippines.

Previous NLE Examinations

Recent Nurses Licensure Examination (NLE) results show varying passing rates and release timelines. In February 2026, the PRC announced the results within five working days, with 3,611 of 8,162 examinees passing. Alyanna Marie Ramos Villegas of Saint Paul University-Tuguegarao led the examination with a 92.00% rating.

In November 2025, results were released after 15 working days, with 40,692 of 45,192 examinees passing. Johannah Marie Gerardo Acevedo and George Wilson Tan Escordial of West Visayas State University–La Paz shared the top rank with 93.80%.

The May 2025 NLE recorded 6,935 passers out of 10,770 examinees, with results released within five working days. Angelica Ferrer Dator of Southern Luzon State University–Lucban topped the exam with 90.00%.

For November 2024, the PRC reported 29,349 passers out of 34,534 examinees after 14 working days. Chariemae Nuñez Cañazares of Cebu Normal University ranked first with a 92.60% rating.
