NLE Performance of Schools: August 2026 Nursing Board Exam

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) officially released the results of the August–September 2026 Nurses Licensure Examination (NLE) on September 18, 2026, providing examinees and the public with the latest outcome of the nationwide nursing board examination.

The August–September 2026 Nurses Licensure Examination (NLE) results, including the complete list of successful examinees, top 10 performers, top-performing schools, and overall school performance, were released by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) on Friday, September 18, 2026.

According to the PRC, 28,652 out of 37,359 examinees passed the August–September 2026 NLE, resulting in a passing rate of 76.69 percent.

Meanwhile, the results involving 21 examinees were withheld as the PRC conducts a final determination of their possible liabilities under the rules and regulations governing licensure examinations.

The official release includes the complete roster of successful candidates, the Top 10 performers, the top-performing schools, and the overall performance of the participating institutions. The results were published five working days following the conclusion of the examination schedule.

The NLE was primarily conducted on August 29 and 30, 2026, in testing centers located across the country. These included Metro Manila, Baguio, Butuan, Cagayan de Oro, Calapan, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Koronadal, Legazpi, Lucena, Pagadian, Palawan, Rosales, Tacloban, Tuguegarao, Zamboanga, Cauayan, Dumaguete in Negros Oriental, Ilocos Sur, Laguna, Lipa in Batangas, Tagbilaran in Bohol, and Urdaneta in Pangasinan.

The examination timetable was adjusted in several areas because of unfavorable weather conditions. In Region III, the examination for candidates assigned to San Fernando, Pampanga, and Cabanatuan, Nueva Ecija, was conducted on September 11–12, 2026, after Heavy Rainfall Warnings prompted the rescheduling of the original dates.

Meanwhile, the second day of testing in the National Capital Region proceeded on September 12, 2026.

The changes in schedule were implemented as a precautionary measure to safeguard examinees, examination personnel, and other stakeholders from potential risks associated with the weather. Authorities also considered the possible effects of the conditions on transportation and mobility.

The August–September 2026 NLE was administered by the Board of Nursing, led by Chairperson Hon. Leah Primitiva S. Paquiz, with Hon. Elsie A. Tee, Hon. Zenaida C. Gagno, Hon. Mary Grace C. Lacanaria, Hon. Mila Delia M. Llanes, Hon. Merle L. Salvani, and Hon. Josefina A. Tuazon as members.

August 2026 NLE passers registration, verification of ratings and oathtaking schedule

NLE Registration

Successful examinees who qualify for the issuance of a Professional Identification Card (PIC) and Certificate of Registration (COR) will complete the registration process online through the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) portal.

The date for initial registration will be announced by the PRC. Applicants should access the official PRC online services portal and carefully follow the instructions provided for initial registration.

For the registration process, applicants are required to prepare the following:

• A screenshot or printed copy of the system-generated Registration Form
• A valid government-issued identification card

Under Section 16 of Republic Act No. 9173, successful examinees are required to take the professional oath before the Board of Nursing or another government official authorized to administer oaths before beginning the practice of nursing.

Verification of NLE Ratings

All NLE examinees, whether they passed or failed the examination, may verify their individual ratings a few working days after the official release of the results.

To check an examination rating, applicants should visit the official PRC website and proceed to the Verification of Rating service. The system will require information such as the examination name, examination date, application number, first name, last name, and date of birth.

NLE Oathtaking Details

The PRC will release the schedule and other important details for the Nursing Licensure Examination (NLE) oathtaking after the publication of the examination results.

Those who will participate in the face-to-face mass oathtaking are required to register online through the PRC portal by 12 noon on the day before the ceremony.

Inductees should print and bring their personalized Oath Form containing a QR code, which will be used for attendance verification during the ceremony. Examinees who cannot attend the face-to-face ceremony may be given the option to participate through an online or special oathtaking, subject to PRC guidelines.

After completing the oath-taking ceremony, successful examinees must proceed with their Initial Registration through the PRC online portal to complete the requirements for professional registration

PNLE 2026 Provides Broad Assessment of Future Registered Nurses

The August and September 2026 Philippine Nurse Licensure Examination (PNLE) brought together multiple areas of nursing education and professional practice to evaluate candidates preparing for registration as nurses in the Philippines.

The examination tested knowledge and competencies in Fundamentals of Nursing and Professional Adjustments, Maternal and Child Nursing, Community Health and Communicable Disease Nursing, Nursing of Adolescents, Adults and Older Persons, and Mental Health and Psychiatric Nursing.

Its scope also reflected the 11 key areas of responsibility contained in the Competency Standards of Nursing Practice in the Philippines. These were organized into four major competency groups: Patient Care, Empowering, Enabling, and Enhancing.

Patient Care covers safe and quality nursing care, communication, teamwork, collaboration, and health education. Empowering includes legal, ethical, moral and spiritual responsibilities, together with personal and professional development. Enabling covers resource and environmental management and the proper handling of records. Enhancing involves research and continuous quality improvement in nursing practice.

The PNLE was divided into five parts covering different aspects of nursing practice. Nursing Practice I assessed Community Health Nursing, while Nursing Practice II focused on the care of healthy and at-risk mothers and children. Nursing Practice III, IV and V examined the care of clients experiencing physiologic and psychosocial alterations across three examination components.

Overall, the examination framework was designed to measure a candidate’s ability to apply nursing knowledge, professional standards, clinical competencies, and sound decision-making in various patient-care settings.

Recent NLE Examination History

The February 2026 NLE had 8,162 examinees, of whom 3,611 passed. The PRC released the results within five working days, with Alyanna Marie Ramos Villegas of Saint Paul University-Tuguegarao recording the highest rating at 92.00%.

The November 2025 NLE had 45,192 examinees and 40,692 passers. Results were released after 15 working days. Johannah Marie Gerardo Acevedo and George Wilson Tan Escordial of West Visayas State University–La Paz shared first place with a rating of 93.80%.

For the May 2025 NLE, 6,935 of 10,770 examinees passed, and results were released within five working days. Angelica Ferrer Dator of Southern Luzon State University–Lucban topped the examination with 90.00%.

In November 2024, the PRC recorded 29,349 passers out of 34,534 examinees, with results released after 14 working days. Chariemae Nuñez Cañazares of Cebu Normal University ranked first with a 92.60% rating.
