A 24-year-old Food Science and Technology graduate of the University of the Philippines (UP) Mindanao has successfully passed the August 2026 Food Technologists Licensure Examination, earning the professional title of Professional Food Technologist (PFT).
The successful examinee, known for his educational and trivia content under the “Let Me Explain Something” series, added the professional license to a growing list of accomplishments in education, science communication, and digital content creation.
Before earning his professional license, he had already gained recognition for making science and factual information easier to understand and more accessible to Filipino audiences.
His achievements include being named TikTok Philippines’ Top Education Creator of 2022, receiving the Gandingan Awards’ Most Development-Oriented Online Short-Form Series in 2025, and being recognized in 2026 by the STARDOM Awards as Most Excellent Science Research Journalist and as a Gandingan ng Edukasyon awardee.
He was also named a United Nations Development Programme Creators Forward Ambassador and became an Earth Journalism Network Fellow, further highlighting his work in science, education, and public information.
His journey toward becoming a licensed food technologist was marked by a combination of academic training and a growing career in content creation.

He was initially expected to take the licensure examination in 2025 but postponed his plans. He later returned to the goal while continuing to manage his responsibilities as a content creator.
Although his review program covered six months, his demanding schedule left him with only around 20 days for intensive preparation. He had to complete months’ worth of review materials within a short period before the examination.
Despite the limited preparation time, he successfully completed the examination and eventually received the result he had been working toward.
The passing of the licensure examination marks another milestone for the UP Mindanao graduate, who can now officially practice as a Professional Food Technologist.
His success also highlights how professional goals can continue alongside careers in digital media, particularly in fields involving science, education, and public information.

Raymor Cuevas Earns Professional Food Technologist License After 20-Day Review
Raymor A. Cuevas, a Food Science and Technology graduate of the University of the Philippines (UP) Mindanao, has successfully passed the August 2026 Food Technologists Licensure Examination and is now a registered Professional Food Technologist (PFT).
Cuevas shared his journey in a Facebook post, describing his success as the result of perseverance, support from the people around him, and his faith.
In 2025, Cuevas was originally preparing to take the Food Technologists Licensure Examination. However, after graduating from college, he struggled with uncertainty about his future and eventually decided to postpone the examination.
Instead of taking the board exam that year, Cuevas focused on other opportunities. His decision opened a new path in digital content creation, leading to brand collaborations, organizational partnerships, and eventually his move to Manila.
When he decided to take the licensure examination in 2026, he faced a different challenge. His growing work as a content creator required him to manage brand shoots, deadlines, and other professional commitments, making it difficult for him to maintain a regular study routine.
According to his post, his review program lasted six months, but most of his review materials and manuals remained untouched outside of his Sunday face-to-face review sessions.
With only 20 days left before the examination, Cuevas intensified his preparation and attempted to cover six months’ worth of review materials in less than three weeks.
The demanding preparation period became a major challenge, but Cuevas continued with the support of his family, friends, review companions, mentors, and his community in Manila.
He also credited his alma mater, UP Mindanao, particularly the Department of Food Science and Chemistry, for helping shape his professional foundation in food science and technology.
Cuevas also expressed gratitude to Quantum Review Center for its review materials and examination strategies, which he said helped him prepare for the licensure test.
His successful result marks a major milestone after a journey that began with uncertainty following college graduation and eventually led him to both a career in digital content creation and professional licensure.
