The Bureau of Immigration (BI) has deported four Japanese nationals accused of involvement in fraud-related activities, immigration violations, and theft cases in Japan, as authorities strengthen efforts to prevent the Philippines from becoming a refuge for foreign fugitives.
MANILA, Philippines — The Bureau of Immigration (BI) has deported four Japanese nationals accused of involvement in fraud-related activities, immigration violations, and criminal offenses in Japan, reinforcing the Philippine government’s efforts to prevent the country from becoming a safe haven for foreign fugitives.
The deportees were identified as Oi Riho, 28, and Moriyama Yu, 31, who were classified as overstaying, undocumented, and undesirable aliens. Both were reportedly linked to telecommunications fraud, online gaming fraud, and a scheme associated with kidnapping.
Also deported were Daisuke Ikeno, 51, and Hamai Daisuke, 53, who were declared undesirable aliens for allegedly being fugitives wanted in Japan in connection with theft cases. The two reportedly had standing warrants issued by Japanese authorities.
The four Japanese nationals were placed on a Japan Airlines flight bound for Narita, Japan, under the escort of personnel from the Japan National Police Agency (JNPA).

Their deportation highlights the continuing cooperation between Philippine immigration authorities and foreign law enforcement agencies in addressing cross-border criminal activities and immigration violations.
BI Commissioner Joel Anthony M. Viado said the Bureau would continue strengthening its enforcement efforts and coordination with foreign law enforcement agencies to ensure that the Philippines would not be used as a refuge by foreign fugitives.
The latest deportation underscores the importance of international cooperation in tracking individuals wanted for alleged criminal activities and ensuring that immigration laws are enforced against foreign nationals deemed undesirable.
As authorities continue to tighten their watch on foreign nationals involved in unlawful activities, the BI remains focused on protecting the country’s borders while working with international partners to address security and law enforcement concerns.
