September 2026 Criminology Licensure Examination Results Expected on September 4; Thousands Await PRC Release Following Nationwide August Board Exams
The September 2026 Criminology Licensure Examination (CLE) results are expected to be officially released by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) on September 4, 2026, marking one of the most anticipated licensure examination announcements of the year for aspiring Registered Criminologists across the Philippines. Following three days of rigorous examinations conducted on August 1, 2, and 3, 2026, thousands of examinees are now awaiting the official list of successful passers, top-performing schools, topnotchers, and other examination statistics that will determine the next generation of professionals entering the country’s criminology sector.
The Criminology Licensure Examination remains among the country’s largest professional board examinations, drawing graduates from universities and colleges nationwide who seek to earn the prestigious Registered Criminologist (RCrim) designation. The examination serves as the gateway to careers in law enforcement, criminal justice administration, forensic investigation, correctional services, public safety, private security, criminological research, and various government agencies responsible for maintaining peace and order throughout the Philippines.
This year’s examination was administered simultaneously across an extensive network of testing centers to accommodate the growing number of examinees from different regions. The PRC conducted the August 2026 CLE in National Capital Region (NCR), Baguio, Butuan, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Koronadal, Legazpi, Lucena, Mati, Palawan, Pagadian, Pampanga, Rosales, Tacloban, Tuguegarao, Zamboanga, Antique, Bacolod, Bayambang, Bohol, Cauayan, Dumaguete, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, Kidapawan, Lipa (Batangas), Nueva Vizcaya, Santiago City, and Sablayan, Occidental Mindoro, reflecting the Commission’s continued commitment to making licensure examinations more accessible to aspiring professionals regardless of geographic location.
Further expanding accessibility, the PRC approved additional testing centers through official Commission resolutions. Under Resolution No. 2173, series of 2026, Mati City was designated as an additional testing center for the August 2026 Criminology Licensure Examination, providing greater convenience to examinees from Davao Oriental and neighboring provinces who previously needed to travel considerable distances to take the board examination. Likewise, Resolution No. 2197, series of 2026, designated Santiago City as another additional testing center, significantly benefiting candidates from Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, and surrounding areas in Northern Luzon. These strategic expansions underscore the Commission’s continuing efforts to improve accessibility, reduce travel costs for examinees, and ensure smoother administration of one of the country’s largest professional licensure examinations.
As the release date approaches, examinees eagerly anticipate the publication of the official results, which traditionally include the complete alphabetical list of successful examinees, performance of schools, list of top-performing institutions, and the names of the highest-scoring examinees. The PRC may also announce the overall passing rate, total number of examinees, and comparative statistical data that provide valuable insights into the performance of the profession during the current examination cycle.
The Criminology Licensure Examination is designed to assess the competence, knowledge, and professional readiness of graduates before they are granted the privilege to practice the criminology profession in the Philippines. The examination covers major competency areas that include criminal law and jurisprudence, law enforcement administration, criminalistics, crime detection and investigation, correctional administration, criminological theories, ethics, and other specialized fields that are essential to the practice of criminology in both the public and private sectors.
Over the years, the examination has played a crucial role in ensuring that only qualified professionals enter occupations requiring integrity, analytical ability, technical competence, and commitment to public service. Registered Criminologists continue to serve as valuable members of the Philippine National Police, Bureau of Jail Management and Penology, Bureau of Corrections, National Bureau of Investigation, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, Bureau of Fire Protection, private security organizations, local government units, educational institutions, and other agencies involved in criminal justice and public safety.
The conduct and supervision of the Criminology Licensure Examination remain under the authority of the Professional Regulatory Board of Criminology, which is currently headed by Chairman Hon. Ramil G. Gabao, RCrim, PhD, Esq. Assisting in overseeing the examination process are Board Members Hon. Lani T. Palmones, RCrim, PhD, and Hon. Warren M. Corpuz, RCrim, PhD. Together, the Board ensures that the examination adheres to the standards established under Philippine laws governing the criminology profession while maintaining fairness, integrity, and professionalism throughout the entire licensure process.
Once the official results are released on September 4, 2026, successful examinees will proceed with the next stages of professional registration, including the verification of ratings, issuance of the Professional Identification Card (PIC), and registration as licensed criminologists with the Professional Regulation Commission. They will then be formally recognized as Registered Criminologists, qualified to practice their profession and contribute to the country’s criminal justice system.
As thousands of aspiring criminologists await the outcome of months and even years of preparation, the release of the September 2026 CLE results represents more than the conclusion of a licensure examination. It marks the beginning of a new professional journey dedicated to justice, public safety, crime prevention, and national security. For many successful examinees, earning the title of Registered Criminologist is the realization of a lifelong aspiration and the first step toward serving communities with professionalism, discipline, and integrity.
The Professional Regulation Commission is expected to publish the official September 2026 Criminology Licensure Examination results, including the complete list of passers, topnotchers, top-performing schools, and related announcements, on September 4, 2026, through its official communication channels and website. Candidates are advised to rely only on official PRC announcements for accurate and timely information regarding the examination results and subsequent registration procedures.

Alongside the examination schedule, the Board has issued comprehensive general instructions that all examinees must strictly follow. Examinees are advised to verify their specific school or building assignments through the official PRC website at www.prc.gov.ph two to three working days before the exam date, and they must bring their Notice of Admission when confirming their venue. They are also required to visit their assigned location ahead of time to familiarize themselves with the premises. On the first day of the examination, all candidates must report to their assigned venue no later than 6:30 AM to verify their room and seat number, as punctuality is strictly enforced and late arrivals will not be permitted to take the test. Proper attire is required every examination day: male examinees must wear a tucked-in white collared polo shirt without any seals, logos, or marks, paired with decent pants or slacks, while female examinees must wear a tucked-in white collared blouse or shirt, also free of any markings, with decent pants, slacks, or a skirt, and are encouraged to tie long hair in a ponytail for neatness.
In terms of materials to bring, examinees must present their Notice of Admission, along with two or more No. 2 pencils, regular black ballpens without friction or special features, one long brown envelope, and one long transparent or plastic envelope to secure their personal items. Only ordinary magnifying glasses or horseshoe microscopes are allowed as aids. They may also bring packed meals, snacks, necessary medications, and hygiene kits, provided all food and supplies are stored in clear, transparent containers, and sufficient drinking water is brought for the day. It is important to note that proctors will not allow food or drinks to be distributed inside the examination room while testing is ongoing, and examinees are only permitted to leave their seats for restroom purposes.
To maintain fairness and security, certain items are strictly prohibited inside the examination premises. These include books, notes, review materials, and any printed documents containing coded information or formulas. Digital or modified magnifying lenses are not allowed, nor are calculators of any kind. All electronic devices such as smartphones, smartwatches, tablets, portable computers, earplugs, Bluetooth devices, transmitters, and any other gadget capable of storing, retrieving, or sharing data or communication are forbidden. Bags of any kind are also not permitted, and all documents must be kept inside the transparent envelope provided. Furthermore, examinees and personnel are reminded to observe minimum health standards as outlined in Department of Health Circular No. 0324, series of 2023, throughout the duration of the examination. Every candidate is also advised to read carefully and follow all instructions printed on their Notice of Admission. Finally, the Board clarifies that any personal belongings brought into the venue remain the sole responsibility of the examinee, and the PRC will not be liable for any loss or damage to such items that occurs without its fault or negligence.
