The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) has officially released the results of the September 2026 Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers (LEPT), including the complete list of successful examinees, the Top 10 highest-performing passers, and the overall performance of schools across the country. The results were published sixty-three (63) working days after the final day of the nationwide board examination, bringing relief and celebration to thousands of aspiring licensed professional teachers.
The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) has officially announced the results of the September 2026 Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers (LEPT), one of the country’s largest and most anticipated professional licensure examinations. Thousands of aspiring educators from different parts of the Philippines eagerly awaited the announcement after completing the rigorous examination process. The release of the results marks a significant milestone for successful examinees who are now one step closer to becoming licensed professional teachers and serving in schools throughout the nation.
Together with the complete list of passers, the PRC also published the names of the Top 10 highest-performing examinees who achieved the highest ratings in the examination. Likewise, the commission released the performance of schools, highlighting educational institutions that produced excellent passing rates and outstanding board examination performances. These reports provide valuable information for students, colleges, universities, and education stakeholders as they assess the quality of teacher education programs across the country.
The Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers is regarded as one of the most important professional examinations in the Philippines because it serves as the gateway for aspiring educators who wish to teach in public and private educational institutions. Passing the examination demonstrates that a graduate possesses the knowledge, competence, and professional skills required to educate Filipino learners in accordance with national education standards.
The September 2026 LEPT was conducted simultaneously in numerous testing centers nationwide to accommodate the large number of examinees. Testing venues included Metro Manila, Antique, Bacolod, Baguio, Batanes, Bayambang, Bohol, Butuan, Cagayan de Oro, Catanduanes, Catarman, Cauayan, Cebu, Davao, Digos, Dumaguete, General Santos, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, Iloilo, Kidapawan, Koronadal, Laguna, Legazpi, Lipa, Lucena, Marinduque, Masbate, Mati, Nueva Vizcaya, Occidental Mindoro, Oriental Mindoro, Oroquieta, Pagadian, Palawan, Pampanga, Romblon, Rosales, Tacloban, Tagum, Tuguegarao, Valencia, and Zamboanga. The wide distribution of testing centers allowed examinees from various provinces and regions to take the examination closer to their respective residences, making the licensure process more accessible and convenient.
The nationwide conduct of the examination reflected the government’s continuing commitment to providing equal opportunities for aspiring professionals regardless of their geographic location. Thousands of graduates from teacher education institutions participated in the examination, hoping to earn their professional licenses and begin meaningful careers in education.
The Board of Professional Teachers, which is responsible for preparing, administering, and evaluating the licensure examination, is composed of highly respected educators and professionals in the field of education. The board is headed by Chairman Dr. Rosita L. Navarro, with Vice Chairman Dr. Paz I. Lucido, and members Dr. Paraluman R. Giron and Dr. Nora M. Uy. Their leadership ensures that the examination maintains high standards and accurately measures the competence of future educators who will shape the country’s next generation of learners.
The examination itself is designed to assess the professional readiness of teacher applicants by evaluating their mastery of educational principles, teaching methodologies, subject matter expertise, classroom management, curriculum implementation, and professional ethics. Candidates are expected to demonstrate both theoretical knowledge and practical understanding of effective teaching practices before they are granted the privilege of becoming licensed professional teachers.
For many successful examinees, passing the LEPT represents years of dedication, sacrifice, and perseverance. Many candidates spent months preparing through intensive review sessions, self-study, and participation in review programs while balancing family responsibilities, employment, or financial challenges. Their success symbolizes not only personal achievement but also the fulfillment of lifelong dreams of becoming educators capable of making meaningful contributions to Philippine education.
Families, relatives, friends, professors, and review centers also share in the celebration as successful examinees receive one of the most important recognitions in their professional journey. Across social media platforms, congratulatory messages continue to pour in as newly licensed teachers proudly share their accomplishments after months of anxious waiting.
Meanwhile, educational institutions carefully examine the performance of schools released by the PRC, as these results serve as indicators of the effectiveness of their teacher education programs. Colleges and universities with consistently high passing rates often use these achievements to strengthen their academic reputation and demonstrate their commitment to producing competent and globally competitive educators.
Education experts also note that the licensure examination remains an essential quality assurance mechanism that helps maintain high standards in the teaching profession. By requiring aspiring teachers to pass a comprehensive national examination, the government ensures that only qualified individuals enter classrooms where they will play a crucial role in developing the knowledge, character, and future of Filipino students.
Successful examinees are advised to monitor further announcements from the Professional Regulation Commission regarding the schedule of online registration, initial registration requirements, oath-taking ceremonies, and the issuance of Professional Identification Cards (PIC). Completing these post-examination procedures will officially allow successful candidates to practice the teaching profession in accordance with Philippine laws and regulations.
As the country continues to recognize the invaluable role of teachers in nation-building, the release of the September 2026 Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers results serves as another reminder of the importance of maintaining excellence in education. Every newly licensed teacher represents hope for stronger classrooms, better learning experiences, and a brighter future for millions of Filipino students who will benefit from their knowledge, dedication, and commitment to public service.
