Meta has introduced Muse, a personal artificial intelligence agent designed not only to answer questions but also to perform tasks, manage projects and help people turn their long-term goals into action plans.

Meta has officially launched Muse an innovative personal artificial intelligence agent conceived not merely to respond to queries, but to actively carry out tasks, organise projects, and transform your long‑term aspirations into tangible, actionable plans.
Far more than an information provider, Muse functions as a proactive digital assistant capable of taking decisive action on your behalf. Rather than simply delivering answers, it can handle practical tasks such as composing and sending emails, arranging travel bookings, filling out online forms, and navigating the web to get things done all while you focus elsewhere.
Designed to fit seamlessly into how you already communicate, Muse is intuitive and conversational. You may interact with it either through the dedicated Muse app or directly via WhatsApp, simply by describing what you wish to achieve. From there, Muse crafts a personalised strategy, coordinates your time and resources, and continues working toward your objectives even after you close the app. For longer or more complex tasks, it will return to update you whenever circumstances shift or to seek your explicit approval before carrying out sensitive actions such as sending an email or completing a purchase. Ultimately, Muse is built to help you accomplish more with less effort: it can negotiate bills on your behalf, assist in selling a vehicle, and dynamically adjust plans whenever your circumstances change.
At the heart of Muse lies Muse Spark, Meta’s most advanced AI model to date engineered specifically for real‑world, task‑driven agentic work. Built for broad, everyday accessibility, it requires no technical expertise to operate, making powerful AI assistance available to everyone.
Muse also learns and remembers. It can recall details you have shared and use that knowledge to offer thoughtful, context‑aware suggestions. For instance: it might turn a recipe you saved on Instagram into a ready‑made grocery list, propose a custom menu for your next dinner gathering, and automatically account for your guests’ dietary requirements when drafting invitations.

Security has been central to Muse’s design from day one. Every user is assigned a dedicated, isolated cloud environment known as Muse Secure VM a private virtual space that houses your agent and all connected data, completely walled off from other users. Complementing this is an independent safeguard named Sentinel, which governs Muse’s access to the internet and enforces permission requirements before certain actions may proceed. Importantly, Muse never sees your passwords or payment details directly: credentials are stored securely and used without being exposed to the AI itself. Whenever you undertake a sensitive activity, Muse will ask for your approval and maintain a clear audit trail—listing both the actions it has taken and those it proposes to take, so you remain fully informed and in control.
You decide exactly what Muse may access and the extent of its authority. You may grant it permission only to read emails, for example, or allow it to send messages on your behalf; you can adjust these privileges or disconnect linked services entirely at any time. When it comes to online purchases, Muse integrates securely with Link, Stripe’s trusted payment service, using one‑time‑use virtual cards so that your actual payment details remain private and protected. Muse is also the first AI agent to benefit from Link’s purchase protection for eligible transactions, with future support planned for Shop Pay and 1Password.
Privacy is equally fundamental. You retain full choice over whether your interactions contribute to training Meta’s AI models, and you may instruct Muse to forget specific pieces of information it has learned at any time. Furthermore, your conversations and data held within your secure virtual machine are encrypted with an encryption key controlled exclusively by you meaning not even Meta can access your personal content.
In Meta’s vision, Muse represents a meaningful early step toward the future of personal AI and what the company calls “personal superintelligence.” Over time, they foresee AI agents handling ever more of life’s routine work freeing people to focus their time, energy, and attention on the goals, relationships, and activities that matter most to them.
Muse is beginning its rollout in the United States, available across iOS, Android, and the official Muse website with future support planned for AI glasses. For most everyday, basic needs, the service will be offered free of charge; optional subscription plans will also be available for anyone wishing to unlock advanced features and expanded capabilities.
